Presently, Gomel enterprise “Pharmacy” includes 286 pharmacies (of which – 99 are located in Gomel and 187 in the region), (23 – 1st category pharmacies, 40 – 2nd category pharmacies, 13 – 3rd category pharmacies, 90 – 4th category pharmacies, 120 – 5th category pharmacies), a regional pharmacy warehouse and a control and analytical laboratory.
The existing pharmacy network makes it possible to provide affordable drug assistance to the population, both in cities and in rural areas. The reality today has long exceeded the norm. One pharmacy accounts for 2537 residents, taking into account non-state pharmacies with a standard of one pharmacy per 8000 residents. In addition, rural medical and obstetric centers and medical outpatient clinics have organized retail sales of medicines by a medical workers (today there are 514 of them in the region).
However, “Pharmacy” does not stop here, they strive for walking accessibility and development of the pharmacy network in the Gomel region. We continue to open new pharmacies in new micro-districts of Gomel, in regional centers of the region and, if possible, in shopping centers under construction in cities.
Today the enterprise and its structural divisions employ more than 900 highly qualified specialists, more than 40 percent of whom have qualification categories.
The history of the development of the pharmacy business in the Gomel region is rich in events.
Thanks to the selfless work of many generations, the professional skill of the personnel, a lot of work has been done to form the modern structure of the pharmacy network.
