International event “Business Days in Gomel” -2020 has started

International event “Business Days in Gomel” has started on October 27, 2020. A series of online events on the bizgomel.by resource was opened by a Round Table with the participation of 34 partners and colleagues from the CCI and business associations from 14 countries. The meeting was moderated by Marina Filonova, Director General of the Gomel branch of the BelCCI. In her welcoming speech, she thanked the participants for their support, and also made a short presentation on the activities of the branch. Speaking about expanding the geography of contacts, she noted that this year representatives of more than 30 foreign regions, from Australia to the United States, took part in the Business Days in Gomel.

Trade Representative of Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus Yuri Zolotarev noted the readiness to assist the Belarusian business community in developing mutually beneficial contacts with companies in the regions of Russia, as well as the need to organize joint events for business.

Chairman of the Sichuan Association in Russia and the CIS countries Zeng Aiguo (China), anticipating the upcoming B2B, noted that the Association headed by him provides ample opportunities for Belarusian and Chinese business for effective cooperation and search for partners.

Continuing the topic of interaction, the President of the Union CCI of Samara Region Valery Fomichev confirmed his interest in active cooperation, in particular, the joint work of the Samara Chamber with colleagues of the Gomel branch of the BelCCI. The result of contacts that emerged last spring – an invitation to participate in an international online forum organized by Samara – was the signing of a Cooperation Agreement and a decision to become a partner of Business Days in Gomel – 2020.

Nurly Aytiyeva, Chairperson of the Association of Business Women of Atyrau Region, expanded and revived the topic of the meeting, familiarizing the interlocutors with the initiatives to support the activity of women who create their own business in Kazakhstan.

Viktoria Ostroumova, President of the Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ukraine), addressed warm words of welcome to her colleagues. Briefly familiarizing the interlocutors with the specifics of work during a pandemic, Ms. Ostroumova emphasized that the Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry is constantly looking for new business opportunities, ready to continue mutually beneficial cooperation and interesting initiatives of the Gomel branch of the BelCCI.

Among the reliable partners is the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (Zagreb) represented by the head of the department for the markets of the CIS countries Suzana Knezhevich. During the round table, Ms. Knezhevich spoke about new approaches and new projects of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce in working with foreign partners.

Gagauziya branch of the CCI of the Republic of Moldova is an old and important partner of the Gomel branch of the BelCCI. Branch Director Mikhail Pashaly expressed a common hope that next year all the main image events of the Gomel Branch will be held offline and will become a live platform for a common dialogue.

Representatives of foreign business and associations took part in the dialogue along with the speakers. An active and lively dialogue, which took place in the format of a video conference, was devoted to the topics of expanding contacts and finding new solutions in business, creative ideas, business concepts and planned business events, consonant with the challenges of the time.

Participants of the meeting noted an interesting eventful program, the current format of “Business Days in Gomel” -2020 and expressed confidence that in 3 days the events would become a good basis for discussing important aspects of cooperation on the virtual platform “Gomel Pro Business” in the near future.
