On May 20, 2021, online opening ceremony of the XXII International Exhibition “Spring in Gomel” took place in the Hall of Solemn Receptions of the Palace of Rumyantsev-Passevichi.
The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee Gennady Solovey, Deputy Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee Andrei Konyushko, Chairman of the Gomel City Executive Committee Peter Kirichenko, General Director of the Gomel Branch of BelCCI Marina Filonova.
“Gomel region is open for inter-regional cooperation. We produce what you need. Learn, see, come and see by yourselves”, Gennady Solovey emphasized in his welcoming speech. The governor wished the participants and guests of the international exhibition to have mutually beneficial contracts, and wished organizers to have results that significantly override expectations.
Deputy Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee Andrei Konyushko presented the economic potential of the region to participants in the solemn opening.
Addressing the participants, Chairman of the Gomel City Executive Committee Peter Kirichenko noted the importance of the international exhibition for the economic and social life of the city.
General Director of the Gomel Branch of BelCCI Marina Filonova presented the history of the exhibition, its first years, development and current structure.
Temporarily acting sales representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in Hungary, Alexander Ponomarev, Chairman of the Sichuan Association in the Russian Federation and the CIS Zeng Aiguo, Chairman of the Union of Organizations of Trade and Industry of India Priyanshu Jha also made a welcoming address.
More than 50 participants were connected to the video broadcast of the opening ceremony – heads and representatives of diplomatic missions, authorities, chambers of commerce and industry of from near and far countries of the world, Belarusian and foreign companies.
XXII International Exhibition “Spring in Gomel” will continue until May 27.
